Trinidad James was born Nicholas Williams in Trinidad. His family moved to Canada when he was 5 years old and then to South Carolina where his father opened a car repair shop named Joe’s Collision. His father and mother divorced and he and Nicholas moved to Atlanta where he was raised. Homeboy in Atlanta records music and asks Trinidad to hope on the track with them. They did not see the music going anywhere so James decided to stop. In February 2012 he was arrested for attacks on violence against someone he took at a nightclub.
After spending 2 months in prison, he realized that it was not a place for him. He wants to do something better to help take care of his mother. So the homeboy has encouraged him to do his own music. They bought some beats online and recorded some demonstrations. The beat was posted free online from various independent manufacturers. After releasing all the gold and mixtape unsafe, the original beat maker contacted James and thanked him for giving their music life. With only $ 1,000 James filmed all gold music videos. It produces more than 4 million views on YouTube and the record label comes to knock the door.
