Short introduction
Claus Hipp was born in Munich on October 22, 1938 under the name Nikolaus Joseph Hipp.
After graduating from Ludwigsgymnasium, he studied law at the University of Ludwig Maximilians in Munich. His father Georg founded a baby food manufacturing company in 1932, where Claus Hipp received his doctorate in 1964. Because his father died in 1967, he became the Director of the HIPP company in Pfaffenhofen, and at the age of 29 years. HIPP is now a leader in making baby food.
Early life
As the second child of 7 children, Claus Hipp grew up in a middle class family in Munich.
He attended a high school, which he left in 1959 when he graduated from high school. It became clear from the beginning that he had various interests. On the one hand, he learned Russian, but at the same time receive lessons in playing Obo. During his training at the Art School in Munich, he became the main student of Heinrich Kropp. He actually wants to be an artist. However, he began studying law in 1960 and held a doctorate in the field of law.
In 1932, Pastor Georg founded the HIPP company, which was the first to make baby porridge. In 1956, the small family business became a company for the production of the baby food industry. In early 1959, Canning was replaced by HIPP glass, which is still known today and is far more hygienic. Association with nature and the desire to sustainability has been rooted in the HIPP family for many years and has produced raw materials for production that is now derived from ecologically managed land. This laid the foundation for the values of HIPP company.

Claus Hipp has no shortage of appreciation. For his services to the environment, he received many awards, including the Merit Class 1 Cross of the Merit Merit Federal Order Germany in 1995 or 2016, the only German company, “European Business Award for the Environment”, was given by the European Commission. In 2017 he was awarded the “ökologia” prize by the Minister of Environment Rhineland-Palatinate for his attitudes and commitments that should be emulated towards ecology. Prime Minister Baden-Württemberg Wilfried Kretschmann respected him with the German CSR award for his life work in 2018.
